Rotating Art Exhibit
The Falcon Financial Management, Inc. Rotating Art Exhibit was established in 2005 in order to feature local artists of note, especially those who are members of the FFM family.Previously Featured Artists: Tyler Britt, Hope White, Linda Pence, Linda Blondheim, Kate Turner and Fred Woods. The featured artist this quarter is Mandy Macias -- everyone is invited to stop by our office to view the display!
Featured Artist of the Quarter Born in Cuba, Mandy Macias came to the U.S. in 1960. Although involved in some type of art since an early age, it was not until she returned to school after raising a family that she began to concentrate on pursuing her artistic career.
She enjoys working with charcoal, oil, watercolor and acrylic and her subject matter ranges from realistic to abstract, depending on her mood and inspiration. Her colorful paintings are a reflection of her state of mind and spirit at a given time.
"For the most part I try to start a painting with not only a blank canvas, but a blank mind, letting images come to the surface as they please. I also enjoy pushing myself out of the box by experimenting with different mediums and techniques”
Her love for texture was instrumental in the developing of a new method that introduces an array of natural fibers to acrylic paint, giving her latest works an intriguing three-dimensional look
Mandy works at her studio in Gainesville, Florida.
